Here's a lovely 11 lbs fly caught salmon from the Lower Kinnaird beat this afternoon. As the Lower Kinnaird beat catches now quickly approach the 80 salmon mark it is factual that non of these salmon have been caught from the boat via harling and 85% have been taken from the bank with the fly.
Here's delighted John Mackie with the results of his first day ever salmon fishing !! John took all these salmon on a size 11 'Copperass' fly having quickly mastered the left hand single Spey cast. These perfect salmon weighed in at 11 lbs, 7 lbs, 10 lbs & 12 lbs and were taken from the Ash Tree & Guay pools and were all quickly returned to the Tay. Superbly well done John who is no doubt now hooked for life on the Kinnaird Beat and it's salmon holding qualities.
